I went for a walk in the woods this evening, just as the sun was setting.  It was a beautiful, warm, spring day, but there’s a snowstorm on the way.

From a distance, I spotted them.  My steps quickened and my hand reached for the camera in my pocket.  Could it be?  Yes, the tiny, white blossoms had arrived!  They are so delicate and such a welcome sight in spring, shining in the gloominess of debris on the forest floor.  They will be gone quickly, only lasting a few days.  There are some years I miss them completely in the rush of spring planting.  I’m glad I took the time for a walk today.
